Getting involved in programs beyond the classroom can open doors, and for students like Edgar, it’s more than just learning a skill, it’s about discovering potential, building confidence, and finding motivation to succeed in school.
Through the Real World Learning partnership with MINDDRIVE, Edgar earned a paid internship and is now one of six after-school interns learning automotive repair while helping fix cars for families in need. Each day, he discovers new abilities he didn’t know he had, fueling his excitement to keep coming to school and pushing himself further.
Participation in programs like MINDDRIVE goes beyond technical skills. It’s about personal growth, taking on challenges, and finding pride in contributing to the community. Every project provides a new opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact—no matter how big or small.
Edgar’s dedication and curiosity show how real-world learning builds skills, confidence, and impact in the Aztec community.
