Second grade celebrated the end of their immigration unit with a simulation of Ellis Island. In the late 1800s to early 1900s, millions of European immigrants came into the United States through Ellis Island. Students learned stories from several different immigrants and also learned of their rights and responsibilities as American citizens.

We were thrilled to welcome incredible community partners including Kansas City Public Library, Telemundo, KC Zoo, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center, and Burr Oak Woods, along with many other exciting STEM activities.

The “Appreciation Walk” is a special activity where Pre-K staff and students express their gratitude and affection.

More than just a piece of clothing, it represented teamwork and helped them feel like part of something truly special as they explored, played, and discovered.

From the moment they arrived, their eyes sparkled with joy and anticipation. Through laughter, play, and wonder, they explored every area of the museum, discovering new experiences that sparked their imagination and curiosity. Each corner became an opportunity to learn through play and share joyful moments with their friends.
