It’s that time of year again! We are happy to continue our Mesa Azteca Food Pantry for Guadalupe Centers Middle School families. ❤️

The Food Pantry will be available every Wednesday at dismissal.

⏰ 3:30 PM
🛍️ 15–20 bags available each week

Important reminder: Students who ride the bus CANNOT take a food pantry bag home. Bags are available only for students who are picked up by a parent/guardian.

We are so proud that 12 of our students had the opportunity to participate in the Mexikid Dreams book launch party at The Rabbit hOle! 🐰📖

Our students had the chance to:
🌟 Listen to award-winning author Pedro Martín share his lived experience and creative process
💬 Ask Pedro questions and learn more about his journey as an author and artist
📚 Receive a free, signed copy of his new book!

We are so grateful for opportunities like this that encourage our students to connect with authors, celebrate diverse stories, and see themselves as readers and creators.

Last week, Mrs. Lindsey’s 8th grade scientists kicked off their first lab of the year! Students jumped right into hands-on exploration, making observations, investigating, and putting their science skills to work.

Our 6th graders in Mrs. Wilkins’ class took learning to the next level with the Pencil Roller Lab!✏️➡️📏

Students worked like real scientists as they collected, represented, and interpreted data from their experiments. They made observations, recorded their results, looked for patterns, and used their data to draw conclusions. 📊🧠

Who knew a pencil could make learning about data so much fun?! 🙌✨

🫧🔬 Bubble Lab Fun in Science! 🔬🫧

Our 7th and 8th grade science students in Ms. Margita’s classes had a bubbling good time during their Bubble Lab! Students reviewed the scientific method while putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

🧪 Students worked together to make observations, ask questions, test ideas, and learn from their results—all while having fun with bubbles!

Way to go, scientists! We love seeing our students learning, collaborating, and putting science into action! 🫧👏🔬

📚 The Bookmobile is Here!📚

We are excited to welcome the **Kansas City Public Library Bookmobile** to our school! Our students in **Mr. Leavens’ and Mrs. Lowstetter’s classes** are getting the opportunity to explore and check out books right here at school. 📖✨

A big THANK YOU to Mr. Leavens for putting this wonderful opportunity together for our students and helping encourage a love of reading! 📚

The Bookmobile will be visiting our school every other week throughout the semester, giving our students even more opportunities to discover new books and authors!
