sceince fair

Students from our middle school recently represented our school at the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair, joining hundreds of young scientists from across the region in a highly competitive showcase of innovation and discovery.

This year’s fair included 667 students, 543 projects, 112 teachers, 52 districts, and 82 schools. Amid this strong field of competition, our students distinguished themselves through both achievement and excellence in scientific thinking.

Our school submitted eight projects, each one reflecting student curiosity, dedication, and the ability to apply classroom learning to real-world scientific inquiry. Their hard work resulted in outstanding recognition, including 1st Place in Junior Behavioral Science and 2nd Place in Plant Science. In addition, students earned two Special Awards, each recognizing exceptional research and presentation, along with certificates and cash prizes.

Every project contributed to a strong overall showing. The remaining entries earned Gold ratings, with only one Silver and one Bronze academic ribbon, demonstrating the consistency and high level of preparation across our student participants.

This experience highlighted the depth of learning taking place within our classrooms, as students engaged in the full scientific process, developing questions, conducting research, analyzing results, and presenting their findings with confidence

The accomplishments of our students at this year’s science fair reflect more than awards. They represent a culture of high expectations, student engagement, and academic excellence that continues to grow within our school community.

We are proud of our students for representing our school with integrity, curiosity, and excellence.
