Ready, Set, GROW

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Congratulations, your child has been selected to attend Guadalupe Centers Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year!  My name is Dr. April Soberon, and I am the Principal of Guadalupe Centers Elementary School.  I’d like to be the first to welcome your families to the 2023-24 school year.  I can’t wait to continue to get to know each of you and your students and work together to help our students achieve success!

The mission of Guadalupe Centers Elementary School is to create and empower our school community by providing rigorous and engaging academic and cultural experiences.  As we continue our dedication to providing all students with a quality educational experience, we will be returning to an emphasis on daily student attendance and timeliness.  We will open our doors to welcome students beginning at 7:05 for breakfast, and school will start promptly at 7:30 daily.  Dismissal will take place at 2:35 daily.

This year, our school-wide theme for 2023-24 will be “GCES: Ready, Set, Grow!”.  This will be ever-important as we continue to grow as a Pre-K - 5th grade school. I would also like to introduce you to two new administrators to our campus this year.  Ms. Alex Thiessen, Pre-K Director, and Ms. Lineth Posada, Elementary Assistant Principal.  We are thrilled to have them join our team!

We will have an important required meet the teacher events for families.  On these nights, you can meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, and hear important information for the school year.  Please plan to attend one of the dates listed below-more details will be coming soon! Enclosed you will find a calendar for the academic school year (keep this handy!), annual parent-pick up car signs that are required when picking your student up from school, as well as an informational flyer.  On our website you will find school supply lists per grade level  and other pertinent information.  Check out our school E-Learning Hub linked here!

Don’t hesitate to contact the front office with any questions or if you need assistance of any kind.  Looking forward to a wonderful school year at GCES!

Sincerely,

Dr. Soberon
